| Susie is Al's assistant: she is very helpful with gold panning classes. She is able to answer questions that one might have about panning for gold. She lives on the premises, which makes it nice when someone may come up panning or looking for souvenirs and finds the gift shop is closed, All you have to do is go to The Fort Restaurant (which is right next door) and ask for Susie, she will always come over with a smile on her face to open the store for anyone who needs to purchase something, or even just look around. She loves to pan for gold, using a sluice box, or just a bucket, shovel, and a gold pan. She has samples of the gold she has been lucky enough to find in the river.
